Sostenibilità
Commitment
At Pellemoda, sustainability drives every action. As a Benefit Corporation, we’re committed to responsible practices that reduce our environmental footprint, uplift social standards, and promote fair economic growth.
Being a Società Benefit is more than a title; it embodies our dedication to a shared mission of transparency, ethical action, and continuous improvement. Beyond legal compliance, we adhere to voluntary standards and earn certifications that validate our impact and guide our journey forward.
Since 2013, our SA8000 certification has shaped our path, pushing us toward higher standards in Health, Safety, and Environmental practices, recognized by ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. Recently, we achieved Gender Equality Certification, celebrating a workforce composed of over 80% women. Our Legal Rating Award by Tuscany’s Marketing and Competition Authority further underscores our values in action.
Our certifications reflect longstanding principles, not mere objectives. They affirm our dedication to ethical practices and openness with stakeholders. Through our annual sustainability report, we transparently share progress on reducing energy use and emissions, reaffirming our commitment to a collective sustainable future.

Persone
At the heart of our sustainable development goals is a commitment to people. We foster open dialogue and collaboration with trade union representatives, prioritizing continuous improvement and alignment on critical issues.
In 2022, we held three union meetings to openly address challenges from 2020, strengthening trust and increasing employee union membership.
Guided by our family-driven values, Pellemoda is dedicated to product quality and a legacy of ethical, social, and environmental responsibility. We believe in the power of human connection, embracing honesty, transparency, and fairness in all interactions. By nurturing an environment of respect and loyalty, we build lasting relationships and work toward shared goals.
Ambiente
Environmental protection is a core value at Pellemoda, supported by our ISO 14001 certification. We actively monitor and improve our environmental performance, collaborating with clients to advance sustainable practices.
Starting with our production processes, we analyzed ways to reduce our footprint, beginning with leather cutting. By investing in automated cutting machines, we’ve improved precision, reduced material waste, and attracted a new generation of skilled talent. To further our sustainability, we’ve internalized more of our production, enhancing control over ethical practices, energy, and water use. Additionally, we’re developing a system for full traceability across production stages, aligning our legacy with modern sustainability.
Key Projects:
WORLDLY Platform: This platform provides a thorough environmental assessment, including each supply chain component’s impact, shared directly with registered brand partners. Our commitment is validated through ELEVATE’s rigorous audits, with social certification targeted for 2023.
SEDEX Platform: SEDEX delivers an independent evaluation of our environmental, social, and safety standards. Clients seeking transparency can access detailed performance metrics through this platform.
These initiatives reflect our dedication to transparency, accountability, and collective progress toward a sustainable future.

Pellemoda is committed to upholding the SA8000 standard and relevant legal requirements across our supply chain, including employment agencies. To manage the complexity of our network, we’ve implemented a classification system that tailors oversight based on each supplier’s influence and role.
To promote accountability, we require suppliers to sign an agreement to:
- Comply with the SA8000 standard and ensure the same from their suppliers.
- Participate in monitoring activities.
- Implement prompt corrective actions if non-conformities arise.
Our risk management approach involves regular data collection on each supplier’s organizational and SA8000 compliance via monitoring, detailed questionnaires, and audits. Key suppliers are periodically audited and rated on compliance, guiding follow-up actions. In 2022, we conducted 15 comprehensive audits, 8 follow-ups, and several focused evaluations, with no critical issues found. Additionally, we conducted environmental assessments on five sub-suppliers using the Higg Index, backed by third-party audits.
Through rigorous monitoring, Pellemoda demonstrates its commitment to ethical, transparent, and sustainable supply chain practices.
Development of Our Products
The first step of our process is collecting the client's request, which is then reviewed by our product development team to propose suitable raw materials and techniques for producing the initial sample.
The second step involves studying the model using 2D and 3D technologies to digitize the work that will later be executed by our tailors.
Once the pattern is defined, the digital file guides machines to cut the selected hides. These pieces are then stitched and assembled by our skilled craftspeople and tailors.
The final steps involve the application of accessories, garment finishing, and ironing, followed by a thorough quality check before presenting the product to the client for final approval.
